After a short service in Star Fleet, Jean-Henri Roux, Camille's father, had settled down with his young wife in the land of his roots, Nice, France. However, the vineyards that his ancestors had cared for for generations weren't enough to keep him occupied, and Jean-Henri had jumped head-first into politics, determined to leave a larger legacy behind. Jean-Henri and Colette Roux soon had a bustling household, filled with the happy shrieks and exaggerated tears of four daughters, Camille being the youngest. With her father already making a name for himself throughout the Federation, it was no surprise that propriety, parties and politics were the building blocks of Camille Roux's upbringing.

Living in the lap of luxury, the Roux daughters had each excelled within the areas of their desires, afforded each opportunity that came their way. Abrielle, the eldest, was a highly skilled musician, who traveled constantly, performing for thousands in grand halls. Giselle, a celebrated artist, who married well, had also recently blessed the Roux family with the first grandchild. Marie was plowing her way through medical school, well on her way to becoming a surgeon.

And then there was Camille, uncertain of where she wanted to go, who she wanted to be. After multiple incidents that had plastered Camille's name and face all over the tabloids and news as a teenager, Jean-Henri had offered her an ultimatum, enroll in Star Fleet Academy, or be financially cut-off. Her problems had arose shortly after Jean-Henri had become Ambassador to Earth for the Federation and he needed to act quickly to maintain the confidence of the people. "After all, who wants a leader that can't even control his own daughter."

With those words echoing in her ears, but yearning for the life she missed, Camille decided to take the easiest route she thought possible, and entered into Counseling.

Now here she was, one of the newest transfers to the USS Yorktown, her second assignment since graduating from the Academy, but her first upon a starship. Her last news from home being that Jean-Henri was going to be running for the Presidency. Camille was sure he had pulled some strings to help her "disappear" into space during such a vital point in his career.
