Micheal Luther has been serving under the command of Captain Drexel for the last 3 years on the USS Yorktown, but has known him long before he assumed command. He is fiercely loyal to Captain Drexel and to the ship under his command. Since serving aboard the Yorktown he has, in his own eyes, had the most important non-command function aboard the ship as the communications officer. He has been known to be possessive of the work there and doesn't like others getting in his territory. When not on duty Micheal likes to fatten his belly with excessive drinking and loves an argument when he's on the winning side, something that has earned him both friends and enemies aboard the ship. He misses his extended family much and often regrets his space aspirations as they have occluded him from having a simpler life with them.
